Although John McCarthy was the official who set the standard and pumped fans with “Let’s get it on.”, Dean has been a long time official of the Octagon. He has refereed many title fights and won “Referee of the Year” at the 2010 World MMA Awards.
UFC President Dana White has been quoted as saying that Dean is the best referee in all of MMA.
Dean was also a fighter at one time, accumulating a record of 2 wins and 3 losses.
